We all know that the emerging SMEs in the indan IT Sector Face a unique set of challenges that threaten to impede their rapid growth such as:
The Larger Companies in the IT Sector do not hesitate to compete "head on" with smaller companies and this competition is not on a level playing field the SME counterparts.
Economies of scale work in favour of larger companies with respect to purchasing, management (increasing the specialization and the number of managers), financial (easier borrowing), marketing (spreading the cost of PR and advertising) and soon.
The Legislative environment is normally biased towards the interests of large companies in our sector. Regulatory norms are sometimes an over kill for the smaller companies.
Attrition, Progressively reducing margins, a weakening US dollar are all adversely impacting the progress of the SMEs more than the larger companies.
Why ITSME?
In order to counteract this situation, it is clear that SMEs need the following:
(a) A Collective Voice of a significant network of companies to represent their interests in regulatory IT policy making;
(b) Enjoy the same economies of scale that larger companies enjoy through collective bargaining in purchasing, collaborative partnerships in selling and synergistic management/networking in operations.
